So the past 3 months Jeremy and I (mostly Jeremy) have been prepping one of our bedrooms for the baby. What have we been doing for 3 months, you ask? Only prepping to paint. Now, I know you must be thinking, a little here, a little there, that's why it took so long. But no. The people who owned our house before we did had an interesting taste. We were lucky that they only decided to spruce up two rooms: the master bedroom and the nursery.
Our first priority after moving in in Nov 2007 was to repaint the master bedroom. It took us forever to repaint because we had to prime several times, and our walls are really high in the middle of the room - around 12 feet. Also, they painted all the doors and baseboards a peach color, so we had to prime and repaint that, as well. However, we are very happy with the end result.

After tackling the master bedroom, we were all painted out, so we totally procrastinated painting the nursery. I'm actually kicking myself right now, because I thought we had pictures of it before, but now I can't seem to find them:( However, I can describe it! The room had a wallpaper border going around the middle. This was really difficult to remove, and a lot of the wall came with it. So that required a lot of patching. Under the border, the wall was painted blue - but it was really thick because it had been sponged on. So the wall had to be sanded, and the whole thing had to be sanded so it was all one consistency. Above the border, stars and clouds were sponged onto the walls. So, again, we had to prime and paint. But we like the end results!

The master bedroom had two opposing walls painted hunter green, the other two maroon. It was so dark and made the room feel so small. This picture is from our walkthrough, so all the furniture is theirs...

The room looks great Rachelle! You guys must be getting so excited. :)
Love the yellow color in the babies room, it's such a happy color! I am thinking of painting Imogen's room a light yellow. We are so excited that you are having a girl too. Any names picked out yet?? Hope you (Rachelle) aren't sick your whole pregnancy, somehow it is all worth it when the baby arrives!
How awesome!!! I love it.... well except for the BYU shirt in there somewhere... but I guess I'll have to teach baby Boulton the ropes! :)
