Olivia Goes to the Zoo!

This past month has been full of a lot of firsts for Olivia. My sister, Allison, has been staying with us while she completes an internship at a nearby hospital. Olivia loves having an extra friend around.

On Memorial Day, we took Olivia to the Hogle Zoo. She loves animals, so we thought the zoo would be a great place to bring her. The only thing she was really interested in the whole time was pulling leaves off of trees as we walked past and trying to eat all of the signs. But Jeremy, Allison, and I had fun, nonetheless, and I know that Olivia absorbed more than she showed.

Olivia has always loved baths, and Jeremy and I have been excited for it to finally get warm enough to take her swimming. She has been a handful of times now, and she always has a grin on her face and loves splashing in the water.

Olivia has finally moved from her "baby" bathtub to taking baths in the regular tub. The move was necessitated by moments like this...
that would result in her falling over in the water, which would result in a lot of crying :)

Last week I went out of town for 5 days for business. Previously, I've never been away from Olivia for more than 12 hours. My dad came into town just to watch her. I was so worried that she would have a hard time with me not being there, but she never seemed to notice that I was gone. I'm glad she had so much fun, and glad that she was able to spend some time with her Grandpa Butler.

Olivia has been developing so quickly. She isn't crawling yet, but she is scooting all over the place. Her new favorite think to do is get into her diaper caddy and throw her diapers all over the room. We've got to keep a close eye on her now that she can get to wherever she wants to so quickly. Yesterday she cut her first tooth, as well. Teething really hasn't been too difficult for us, she has been a little fussier and cuddlier over the past few weeks, and she has had some troubles sleeping, but it hasn't been anywhere near as horrible as I was anticipating. Hopefully that won't change as more teeth come in!

I'll close with a few more pictures of Olivia over the past month...

Olivia is probably one of the cutest little rugrats I've ever seen. Like, ever. Serious.
