An Exciting Doctor's Appointment!

Today Jeremy, Olivia, and I went to the OBGYN's office. We had an ultrasound performed, and found out that we are expecting another girl. It's always fun to see the baby, and perhaps this time around, it is finally setting in that we are, indeed, having another kid.

She got pretty squirmy for a while during the ultrasound, and that was fun to really see her move. She is measuring perfectly, and looks like she's doing great. So far, so good. Here are a few photos:

This is a pretty good profile shot, you can see her head and her nose, and a couple of floating hands.

In this profile shot, you can really see her chin and her neck, her chubby little belly, and a tiny thigh and knee on the right hand side.

Here's another profile shot, but this time she is sucking her thumb.

My doctor was a little unhappy that I continue to lose weight between visits. With this pregnancy, it isn't so much the vomiting (which really doesn't happen that much), but the constant, overwhelming nausea. It has actually gotten worse as I've progressed into my second trimester. We've tried all the anti-nausea medications, and they haven't worked. I've started getting reflux issues already, and we are hoping that if I can get that under control, that it might ease a little of the nausea that I have been experiencing.

The past couple of weeks Olivia has been kind of difficult. She seems VERY whiny, and I can't stand whiny, and throws temper tantrums whenever something doesn't go exactly the way she wants it. She's been fighting off a cold, dealing with constant teething, and having some difficulty sleeping too. I'm not too optimistic that things will change soon. I'm thinking the whining and temper tantrums will extend well into the next couple of years, as we enter the winter months, the colds will be coming non-stop, and the teething probably won't end anytime soon. I'm just hoping that we can get her back to sleeping through the night again.

Here is a picture of what Jeremy and I call the "poo pose". She sits very still, with her legs out completely straight, her little toes curled up, hunches her back, and looks heavenward. Sometimes this pose is accompanied by grunting, a tomato-red face, or a look of horrified disgust. It is usually followed by extreme happiness, which turns into extreme anger, when she is forced on her back for a diaper change.

Congratulations on a healthy baby GIRL! YAY! That's so fun.
I've been catching up. I suspect that everyone's first priority WAS Olivia. She IS adorable. Happy Birthday, Olivia.
What a fun place to get together. It looked so nice and spacious for everyone to be together. Our family needs a place like that. :)
Hope your feeling alright with this pregnancy. Best wishes.
