It was a good vacation, one that both Jeremy and I needed, and Olivia had a blast. If everyone's first priority was not to dote on Olivia, no one told her that. I'm pretty sure she was convinced that everyone was there to smile at, laugh at, and spoil her.
While we were there, Olivia turned 1 year old. I remember so well when she was born, and especially the couple of days after when we were still in the hospital. She's grown up so much now from where she was 1 year ago, it will be fun to see what she is like in another year.

We spent most of our time out on the beach or in the pool (our beach house had a private pool). It was Olivia's first time to the beach, and I think she really enjoyed it. She actually learned to stop eating the sand during the week, which made going to the beach much more enjoyable for Jeremy and me.

We had a lot of fun in the evenings just hanging out with the family. Every night we had a family program, that included everything from games and talent shows, to watching family videos and learning family dances.
We also had one day reserved as a "field trip" day, and several different groups went to local sites in the Wilmington area. Jeremy and some family members toured the USS North Carolina, a large battleship now located in Wilmington. Olivia and I also went into Wilmington, but spent the day just enjoying the charm of the city (although it was ridiculously hot, with humidity).
I'm pretty sad that it is all over. June and July were just bareable here at home because I had something to look forward to, and now that it is all over, I still have all the stresses of everyday life, without our next vacation scheduled. I will need to be careful with the time I take off in the next several months, including the holidays, as I need to save up as much leave as I can for use in February, when the new baby is due.
I've still got a lot of happenings to post, but perhaps I'll leave them for future postings, as this one is probably long enough already.
