Summer is finally here!

We've been having a lot of fun with our girls! It is so nice that they like each other, although Olivia can get pretty jealous at times.

Ellie is really starting to play with toys, and she is trying her hardest to sit up on her own. When she is in her bouncer, she will pull herself up so that her head and shoulder blades are no longer on the bouncer. She will stay like that until she gets too tired and has to relax.

Ellie is almost rolling over, too. She gets herself on her side, but that darn shoulder just gets in the way and ruins everything.

We're pretty sure that Ellie is allergic to dairy and soy, and that that has been causing her sleeping troubles and excess gas. I've been on a dairy-free, soy-free diet for a couple of weeks to eliminate all the offending proteins out of my milk, and we are just recently seeing a real improvement in Ellie. I hope it continues, although I really want some ice cream and a cheeseburger!

This is a picture of Olivia and her cousin, Lilly. They look so much alike, especially when you compare photos of them at the same age.

Olivia has had 3 pretty horrible ear infections in the past 2 months. She is usually up most of the night crying out in pain. It is so heartbreaking to see her so miserable. We are taking her to a pediatric ENT next week for evaluation for ear tubes. The picture below was after a late night trip to the urgent care for a particularly horrible ear infection. This was probably her worst, she had such a raging fever that we had to strip her down to her diaper to cool her off. When we got the urgent care, her fever kept climbing, even though she had been given a fever reducer. She was in so much pain that she was shaking.

My mom bought this jumper for Olivia last year, but it is finally fitting her this summer. Olivia is going to be 2 years old in 2 months...

but she is wearing a jumper in size 6-12 months! We all thought she'd be wearing this last summer!

I can't believe how big both of my girls are getting!

Your girls are SO cute! I'm sorry you are having to have a dairy and soy free diet, but hopefully it is helping little Ellie sleep, so in return you are able to sleep!
